ETOILE ROUGE :: FRIDAY :: EZIKIEL

BIO

Hailing from Negril’s Beach in Jamaica and raised in Switzerland, EZIKIEL grew up with the positive influences of the Reggae and Dub sounds thanks to his mother’s African roots and his father’s vast musical culture. After buying his first turntables at the age of 14 and starting to mix DnB and Jungle, he fell in love with the Minimal grooves and rhythms that were a major inspiration in his career, going on later to DJ in his hometown’s illegal rave parties.
A move to Zürich in 2006 was a key change: in a short time, EZIKIEL gained a reputation in Switzerland and Germany’s underground Techno scenes, and gigs in the best Swiss clubs followed along with appearances at clubs and events like Vision Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Hive Club, DekaDance, M4Music Festival, Caprice Festival, SEMF Festival and the legendary Street Parade and Time Warp Italy, sharing the stage with the likes of Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos and many more.
Recently, EZIKIEL has mixed the SEMF Festival Compilation, which includes tracks from himself, Johannes Heil and Adam Port feat. Daniel Wilde among others.
Beside playing to large audiences, he’s been busy producing music over the last two years, his hearty charisma and sunny temper fusing into a unique mix of melodies and beats that have already got party people going crazy on dance floors all over the place. His upcoming releases are scheduled on Cadenza.
Beside music, he’s a fervent supporter of UNITED ROOTS & CULTURE, a Foundation that has projects to help people in Africa.
